The Fuchsschwanz / Silver Link Chain captivates with its unique design, which has a technical yet delicate character.
Each solid silver link is handmade by the artist Franziska Schweizer.
FormFor one link, about one gram of 1.2 mm thick square silver wire is bent into a circle with pliers.
SolderAfter that, the circle is soldered to connect both ends.
Ground & PolishThe soldered joints are then ground and buffed with felt and cotton polishers in combination with a high-gloss finishing paste.
BendOnce the circle is polished, it is bent into its final shape.
Connect The finished links are then hung into each other and joined with an S-Shaped-clasp. In total, about 6 meters of silver wire are required to make one Link Chain.

About the Artist Franziska Schweizers artwork is characterized by her affinity to nature and her passion for filigree design. The Augsburg-based artist was trained as a goldsmith in Neugablonz. After completing her studies, she set up her own business ‚Goldschmiede Schweizer‘ with her husband Lukas. When designing for her collections, Franziska draws inspiration from antique jewelry and gemstones with strong character. In her work for OBS, she uses elaborate manufacturing techniques and high-quality materials. The jewelry pieces reflect both the technical OBS character and the typical precision of the artist.
